A guide to ethical reflection, Ethics provides the Filipino students with a framework for appreciating what human civilizations have come to understand as the good and how this understanding shapes their human flourishing. It aims to help students understand that the quest for ethical norms for living a full human life is an evolving task that they have to engage in and realize.

Divided into two sections, this book presents a survey of the major ethical schools of thought, enabling the readers to articulate the basis of the good and discern the reasonability and ethical viability of actions. It also covers the areas of ethical thinking that emerged in the 20th and 21st centuries, such as feminism, ecology, and business and medical ethics, which open opportunities for discussion at issues relevant in today’s modern society. For critical analysis and deeper reflection, study questions and exercises are provided at the end of each chapter.
