Abstract
The legal system of the Philippines is in the process of rapid and significant change. Its basis is the 1972 Constitution, as it is being implemented by residential decrees and letters of instruction. This book prints the constitution section -by-section in capital letters; it discusses the legal background and significance of the section and, finally, it adds relevant presidential decrees and letters of instruction. and indicates how they implement the constitution.

Written by a scholar who is a practicing lawyer, journalist, and instructor, this book meets the needs of three groups of readers: college students who are studying it as required by law; lawyers who need a handy guide to the constitution, correlated with relevant presidential decrees and letters of instruction; and citizens who wish to understand and comply with the law.

This concise, clearly written book not only gives the reader insight into the law, but also an over-view of the far-reaching changes that ate being made in the Philippine legal system in the development of the New Society.
