Abstract
Mathematics in Business was written primarily to provide students pursuing careers in marketing, management, advertising, banking and finance, hotel and restaurant management, tourism, transportation management, office administration, business teacher education, cooperatives, and other business courses, with mathematical concepts relevant to a business curriculum. The objectives of this book are: (1) to teach students to communicate, and to reason mathematically; (2) to develop students’ critical thinking skills by solving mathematical problems; (3) to explain and show how these mathematical concepts be interpreted and
applied in decision-making.

The book contains seven chapters, and provides more than enough materials for a one semester course. Illustrative examples and solved problems are used to facilitate students' understanding of concepts presented. Each chapter includes a wide range of exercises that can help students master newly learned skills and techniques. A chapter test is given at the end of each chapter to test students’ mastery. Furthermore, the book provides tables to make
computations easier even in the absence of calculators.
